Campaign for Legal Immigration
INTRODUCTION
We, as Citizens of the United States of America, are deeply concerned by the danger posed to our country by illegal aliens. Being a nation of immigrants, we appreciate the positive aspects of immigration and encourage controlled, legal immigration.
We contend that porous and unprotected borders pose the national security risk of terrorism. Illegal migration has placed an unnecessary strain on our medical systems, our school systems, our social services systems, and our law enforcement systems. Illegal aliens do not readily assimilate into our culture, creating a divisive subculture. Illegal migration is harmful to the strength and safety of our nation and is antithetical to the concepts of sovereignty and self-determination.
Amnesty is the absence of punishment, not the presence of reward and we reject any form of amnesty; that is, any plan that grants legal status to individuals unlawfully present in the United States and that does not require illegal aliens already in the US to return to their countries of origin and apply for a work visa in order to enter the country through legal means if they wish to reside here and pursue their lives and livelihoods in this country.
RESOLUTION DECLARING AND DEMANDING A STRENGTHENED COMMITMENT TO LAWFUL IMMIGRATION AND EMPLOYMENT PRACTICES IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
WHEREAS, America is a sovereign nation; that is, we, the American people, are in possession of a nation and have the right to keep it; and
WHEREAS, America has the right to permit or deny immigration into their country; as well as the right to repel invaders or deport anyone having entered the United States unlawfully; and
WHEREAS, America has the right to set conditions of immigration that are in its best interest, to include number, kind, and process; and
WHEREAS, American immigration policies should respect the sentiments of the American people; and
WHEREAS, any weakening of the enforcement of immigration laws threatens America's claim to sovereignty, its distinctive national character, its political and economic stability, and its national security; and
WHEREAS, naturalization and political and cultural assimilation are essential elements of lawful immigration; and
WHEREAS, by definition illegal aliens have no right whatever to be here, the state may reasonably and constitutionally elect not to provide them with governmental services at the expense of those who are lawfully in the country; and
WHEREAS, it is unlawful for employers to knowingly hire non-citizens, or those not work-authorized, and employers who do so are subject to penalties; and
WHEREAS, experience and common sense perennially inform us that demonstrable criminality and unfairness tend to recur to the degree they go unthwarted and unpunished; and
WHEREAS, current immigration laws that are unsuited to preventing illegal immigration undermine the spirit of permitted immigration; and
WHEREAS, border security must take place at both land and sea;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT:
1. We demand that America first and foremost positively secure its national borders; and
2. We demand that existing laws be consistently and vigorously enforced; to include: (a) The deportation of anyone found to be living in this country not according to the law; that is, anyone whose mere presence in this country is a crime; and (b) The sanctioning, fining, and prosecution of employers who hire anyone ineligible to work in the United States; that is anyone who is not an American citizen or legal alien; and (c) prosecution of benefits fraud, identity theft, and tax evasion; and
3. We demand that health care and social services be provided only to American citizens (excepting emergencies);
4. We demand an end to birthright citizenship; that is, the denial of citizenship to the US-born children of foreign nationals, whether legally resident or illegal aliens; and
5. We demand the closure of the enforcement gaps between local, state and federal agencies by authorizing local law enforcement agencies to enforce federal immigration law during the course of routine duties.
6. We demand that all government entities employ an "Official English" policy in the conduct of their operations.
7. We demand that all taxpayer funded nonprofits and all government entities refuse to hire illegal aliens; and
8. We demand that the English language be declared the official national language and that all government entities conduct their operations in the English language to the exclusion of all others; and
ALSO, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:
9. We strongly encourage private businesses to refuse to hire illegal aliens, to publicly announce their commitment with postings to that effect, and to actively participate in the national Basic Pilot Employment Eligibility Verification System; and
10. We strongly encourage private businesses to conduct their operations in the English language to the exclusion of all others where there is no clear and direct ethnic characteristic connected with the offerings, conduct, and presentation of that business; and
11. We strongly encourage private citizens to withhold their patronage of businesses that have been shown to have violated U.S. employment law by hiring illegal aliens.
